About Bladensburg Flood Risk Reduction Project

The Town of Bladensburg is committed to reducing the risk of flooding in areas surrounding the Edmonston and Quincy Run channels. In 2022, severe flooding caused by a slow moving storm event that devastated the community, damaging homes, roads, and other properties. As climate change accelerates, storms like the one in 2022 are expected to become more frequent and intense. This project aims to mitigate future flood risks by enhancing the water conveyance systems in these channels, ultimately protecting residents and infrastructure from recurring water damage.
